1.) What stuck out as the most interesting part of what I watched and read was the message in each of the videos. I have been hearing both of these songs since I was a little girl but I never stopped to question what they were actually about. I never connected the lyrics "Love is a battlefield", or "Girls just wanna have fun" to being a part of the female address. I always associated these lyrics as light hearted and fun.
2.)I think "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun" has the strongest message of the two videos. While they both have strong messages about female rights and freedom to live life the way you want, I think Girls Just Wanna Have Fun does a better job of proving this point. It gives more examples of women embracing their freedom. Such as, the girl standing up to her mother and father and then proceeding to have a dance party in her room.
3.)The video I am doing for our next paper is "Waiting on the world to change" by John Mayer. This song and its music video is about a group of people or friends that believe people are not doing anything to make the world a place they want it to be. They are infact waiting on things to change. The video uses many dark colors to portray sad or angry people, helping the message of the song.
The videos from the article helped me learn to look for the actual meanings behind the songs. Not to just accept the lyrics, but amalyze them.
