The Last Stop
When I read the first paragraph, I automatically assumed that the story would be very depressing and hard to read. I was pleasantly surprised when I realized that this story was not at all what I had expected. Just like me, Cable had a very negative outlook when he was getting ready to go visit the funeral home. Once he arrived at the funeral home, he saw that it was not the depressing place he had pictured. The mortician, while he outwardly was what Cable expected, was not at all what he expected personality wise. He was very compassionate to his guests and did everything he could to make their final goodbyes to their loved ones special. The morticioner believed that being burried was very important in the end of a persons life because it allows the family to say goodbye knowing that the deceased were peaceful. I had never really given this fact that much thought but now that he pointed it out, I agree. I really enjoyed reading this, which was very unexpected. It showed me that death can be peaceful and not quite so depressing. However, I would never become a morticioner. He used great details in this story to help get his point across to his viewers, this will help me in writing my next paper.
