Befriending Barbie

When I was young, I enjoyed playing with Barbie like most girls, but I had know idea that Barbies were so obsessed over like the story shows. The amount of money that is spent on Barbies at these convention is outrageous. I just remember as a kid always cutting their hair or somehow ending up destroying them before even having them for longer than a few months. There are conventions about all kinds of toys, so it is not surprising that there is one for Barbie. I did not realize though that their were that many different kinds of Barbies. It was interesting to see what the reasons is for some of the men and women to come to the conventions and why they collect them. The lady whose explanation for collecting Barbie was for for son was important part to me in the story. I would believe that Barbies should only be used by children, but after reading the story I can kinda understand why adults would want to too. I have realized that a small object/toy can impact someones life so greatly.
