The Last Stop

When I think of death and mortuaries, it always makes me feel sad and depressed.  No one ever likes to talk about death, or funerals, because it is a symbol of the end.  You will never be able to see, hear, or touch that person ever again.  You can't go back in time and change something to stop death from happening.  You cant control the amount of time someone has here on Earth.
I agree with the assumption that Cable had about the mortician, when I picture them they themselves look as though they are only a few steps away from death, super skinny, tall, and pale.  Whenever I drive past a mortuary I always wonder what is going on inside.  I picture it to be a very gloomy and sullen place.  I always think it's weird that people who work there, sometimes live there as Mr. Deaver and his wife do...personally I could never do that!  After reading this paper, it was eye opening to learn about all of the different parts of the funeral, and how much preparation is needed.  It's a good thing that someone has the nerve to work with the dead, so that the living are able to better part with there loved one and see them in a state as if they were still alive.
Cable did a great job explaining his surroundings, and giving more information about what goes into the preparation for a funeral.  Funerals are second to weddings in cost comparison, I never realized how expensive funerals were.  I suppose it is a sort of "celebration" of that person's life.  He also used a lot of good detail when describing his surroundings so the reader could clearly picture what this place might look like.  After reading this paper, I now know that I will need to use a lot of detail to explain the experience I had, in a way for all the readers to feel what I felt.
