Befriending Barbie

Before I read this essay I really had no clue about barbie other than that she was a doll that dated ken and girls love to play with her. a few things that really surprised me were the stats about barbie, especially the amounts of clothes, the prices, and the amount of fabric. another thing that was astounding was the business profit of barbie, it was a billion dollar business. before i read this article i didnt care for barbie, or even think of her as a collectable or a toy. now i see her as an industry that makes alot of money, something i can see why people get into her. this essay was describing  something that the author never really did, and is a good example for the essay we are in the process of writing right now. it describes her new adventure with detail and thoughts that go on in her mind, which gives a good image of what shes going through.
