The Last Stop

When I think of death, it definitely makes me upset. No one likes the idea of dying. Death symbols the ending of a lifetime and means for some people that you will never be able to see them again. Even though it should be a celebration of life, it ends up being a very sad time. I agree with the assumption that the writer had of the mortician. When I think of someone who wants to work with dead people at a funeral home, I picture them to be very skinny and creepy looking. I know that is a judgement that is probably not always true, but the writer of this paper proved my point. Also, the way he described the desk having nothing on it gave me a good picture of what the inside of the building looked like. There is obviously not going to be much color and excitement in a funeral home. The writer did a great job of describing what he felt like while he was in the mortuary and what the rooms looked like. Each description that he gave was exactly how I would picture a mortuary to look. Sometimes, I feel like people judge people if they want to work as a mortician. I for one was someone who did this. After reading this paper, it changed my opinion. I would still never be able to work as a mortician, but as Mr. Goodbody said, he thinks of it as allowing people to have a proper goodbye with their loved one. He is actually doing the families that come to see him a favor and without him people would not get that chance to see their loved one one last time. This essay with help me write my own because it showed me to not let my judgements get in the way of seeing a new way of looking at something.
