I must admit, if i was to go that convention I would have had very similar if not the same views as her. Not because I think there is something wrong with it but because I have not ever owned a barbie, never had the desire to, and never seen how they could be fun in any way. After reading this piece however I think I have a better understanding of what this is all about. This essay really made me realize that you do not need to look at other peoples hobbies no matter how uncommon they are because to them it could be a way of meeting people with similar interests a lot or they could have a story like the lady with the son that was murdered. I think the most powerful part of this entire essay was the lady saying her son was murdered and people that she met with the same love for barbie as her were the only people that really helped her through this. Overall I liked this piece a lot although it was a little lengthy. It also helped me with my upcoming essay because it helped by showing me a good idea for how to start off my story and structure it.
